Updated: Dec. 23, 2025- Salary ceilings and the elderly contribution rates for the Central Provident Fund (CPF) will rise starting from 2026.
The CPF ordinary wage ceiling will be raised to $8,000 next year, from the current $7,400.
The CPF annual salary ceiling of $102,000 which is the maximum amount in wages for the year on which CPF contributions can be made, remains unchanged. The wages include ordinary and additional wages.
For employees above the ages between 55 and 60 years, the CPF contribution rates will be increased to 34 per cent of the total wage next year, from the present 32.5 per cent.
The employee’s contribution for the age bracket will increase to 18 per cent in 2026, from 17 per cent while employer’s contribution will rise by 0.5% to 16%.
The CPF contribution rates for workers from 60 to 65 years old will be raised to 25 per cent of the total wage next year, up from 23.5 per cent. Both contribution by employee and employer will increase to 12.5 per cent each next year, with the increase by employer at 0.5%, smaller than the employee’s increase of 1%.
Retirement Sums
The full retirement sum (FRS) will also increase by about 3.5 per cent to $220,400 for those who turn 55 in 2026, from $213,000 this year.
The basic retirement sum (BRS) and enhanced retirement sum (ERS) will also increase.
The BRS which is half of the FRS will increase to $110,200 in 2026 while the ERS which is twice the FRS will increase to $440,800 next year.
Retirement Savings Scheme for Those With Disabilities
The Matched Retirement Savings Scheme (MRSS) was expanded to include younger Singaporeans with disabilities this year.
From next year onwards, the scheme will be extended to persons with disabilities of all ages to help them build up their retirement savings earlier through cash top-ups to the CPF Special Account.
Eligible persons with disabilities can receive a dollar-for-dollar matching grant of up to $2,000 a year, up to a lifetime limit of $20,000.
MRSS eligibility is automatically assessed at the beginning of each year and eligible members will be notified through email or hardcopy letter. Alternatively, members can check their eligibility early next year in their Retirement Dashboard at http://cpf.gov.sg/retirement by logging in via Singpass on the CPF website.
