The death toll in protests against the Iranian regime has risen sharply, according to reports.

The London-based news channel Iran International said at least 12,000 people have now been killed in the protests.

The news outlet said it reached the conclusion after receiving information from, but not limited to, sources in Iran’s presidential office, data linked to hospitals and information provided by nurses and doctors across the country.

Members of the Iranian regime have been accused of shooting thousands of peaceful protesters in the country.

Iran’s top judge implied that there will be fast trials and executions for those who have been detained in the nationwide protests.

However, U.S. President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that based on information he had received, he believes there is currently no plan for large scale executions.

“We have been informed by very important sources on the other side and they’ve said the killing is stopped and the executions won’t take place. There was supposed to be a lot of executions today and that the executions won’t take place. And we’re going to find out,” he said.

Trump does not rule out taking action against Iran.

He is watching Iran and warns of very strong action in response to reports of the Iranian regime hanging those detained during the protests.
