A massive sinkhole has developed near China’s Shanghai International Airport.
The sinkhole is estimated to be about 65 feet wide and 15 feet deep.
Nearby buildings and construction materials have been swallowed into it.
Some debris is floating in water around the site.
The sinkhole is located in a densely populated business area just minutes by car from Shanghai’s international airport.
The incident has caused heavy traffic in the surrounding commercial area, but no injuries have been reported so far.
Authorities said the day before the collapse, a groundwater leakage was detected at the subway construction site.
They suspected that the leakage caused the sinkhole.
