U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) said the U.S. military hit nearly 2,000 targets inside Iran, demonstrating the strength of the U.S. and Israeli intelligence.

U.S. President Donald Trump mentioned reports on Tuesday that while Iran was picking a successor to the  Iranian Supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, killed in the U.S.-Israel military operation, Israel struck the building where his successor was being picked.

CENTCOM said it is hitting Iranian military targets.

They include air defense and missile systems targeted to reduce Tehran’s ability to counter incoming strikes and degrade its long-range strike capability.

The command, control and communications of the military headquarters of Iran’s armed forces Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and aerospace forces, including the military communications infrastructure have been hit in efforts to degrade Iran’s ability to coordinate forces across domains.

Iranian naval forces have been a significant target, including warships and submarines in the Gulf of Oman.

CENTCOM confirmed that 17 Iranian navy ships in the Gulf of Oman were taken out.

The U.S. military has also targeted Iran’s ground military assets, launch sites and other strategic military infrastructure.

In response, Iran has hit a number of Gulf states.

Hundreds of missiles have been launched at the Gulf states such as the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Bahrain, Kuwait and Qatar.

There were reports that they are considering a counter-strike on Iran as civilian sites were attacked such as hotels, airports and residences.

The UAE said it has enough amunitions to attack Iran and resist attacks.

Trump said that building relationships over the past year may be putting forward a new strength in partnerships with these Gulf states with a common enemy of Iran.

Israel is striking Iranian targets and Hezbollah terrorists, proxies of Iran, in the north of Lebanon following strikes on Israelis.

US Evacuates Citizens

U.S. State Department said it is preparing military and charter flights to evacuate Americans from the Middle East.

New departure orders were issued for 14 U.S. embassies across the Gulf region.

More airports have shut down, making it difficult for Americans to leave commercially.

A couple of Iranian drones hit the U.S. embassy in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday but no one at the embassy was hurt as the building was empty at the time.

The U.S. closed its embassies in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait with the State Department warning of imminent attacks on Dharan, Saudi Arabia.

The U.S. embassy in Dharan put out a statement, saying “There is a threat of imminent missile and UAV attacks over Dharan. Do not come to the U.S. consulate. Take cover immediately in your residence on the lowest available floor and away from windows. Do not go outside.”

As Israel comes under attack, the U.S. embassy in Jerusalem said it is unable to evacuate U.S. citizens from Israel.
